Tonia Rodgers MSW, RSW
Tonia is the Manager of the Counselling department at YW Calgary and has been with the organization since 2015. As a registered Social Worker, Tonia began her career in Children’s Services and later joined the non-profit sector to focus on family violence prevention and intervention. Tonia has been in various leadership roles, where she’s been able to share her passion for strengths-based leadership and continuous professional development. Tonia holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University. As an East Coaster who longs to be on the ocean, she has made her home in Calgary settled near the mountains.

Rani Murji MSW, RSW
Rani is a clinical counsellor with the YW Calgary Counselling and Personal Development program. She completed her MSW at the University of Calgary and her Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. Rani is passionate about Narrative ideas and CBT, using both in her work with children and families. With a depth of experience in adult education, Rani is excited to help practitioners grow their skills around family violence. In her spare time, you will find Rani letting out her inner potter as she explores her newfound hobby of working with clay.

Mayra Jarillo Alvarado, RSW
Mayra is a dedicated Registered Social Worker; her educational background is in both Chemistry and Social Work. She has been in the field of family violence intervention for over a decade. As the Outreach Supervisor at YW Calgary since 2018, she leads a team of Case Managers in providing vital support to those affected by family violence.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, she effectively advocates for diverse populations, enhancing participants' access to essential resources. Mayra is passionate about fostering creativity and commitment within her team, helping to develop their skills and capabilities. She finds fulfillment in the positive impact they make in the lives of those they touch. In her spare time, she enjoys adventure and traveling around the world to learn about different cultures.
