MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

  • Lana Bentley MSW, RCSW

Lana is YW Calgary’s Director of Program Strategy. Prior to joining YW, Lana worked with Alberta Health Services where she spent most of her time in child and adolescent mental health. Lana has been a part-time faculty member at Mount Royal University since 2009. Lana shares her time with Youth Central Calgary, the Calgary Black Chambers, and the Alberta College of Opticians. A loyal but often disappointed fan of the Toronto Raptors, she enthusiastically watches every televised Raptors’ game (much to the frustration of everyone in her household).

  • Tonia Rodgers MSW, RSW

Tonia is the Manager of Counselling and Personal Development at YW Calgary. As a registered social worker with over thirteen years of experience, Tonia began her career in children’s services and later joined the non-profit sector to focus on family violence. Tonia has been in leadership roles for the past seven years, where she’s been able to share her passion for strengths-based leadership, and the prevention and treatment of family violence. Tonia holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University and received her Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University.

  • Rani Murji MSW, RSW

Rani is a clinical counsellor with the YW Calgary Counselling and Personal Development program. She completed her MSW at the University of Calgary and her Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. Rani is passionate about Narrative ideas and CBT, using both in her work with children and families. With a depth of experience in adult education, Rani is excited to help practitioners grow their skills around family violence. In her spare time, you will find Rani letting out her inner potter as she explores her newfound hobby of working with clay.
